Graduate Programme - Slides Rebranding

My other task during my internship was rebranding educational lecture slides used for medical e-learning. My role involved updating the slides to match the organisation's branding guidelines while ensuring that the content remained clear, visually consistent and suitable for students.

The rebranding process was more challenging than I initially expected. Every lecture had a different layout and level of complexity. Some presentations were well organised, while others contained inconsistent font sizes, incorrect font types, overcrowded text and formatting that did not follow the organisation's branding standards. This meant I had to carefully review each slide individually and decide how to standardise the design without affecting the readability of the educational content.

One of the skills that I was able to apply during this task was the use of Slide Master, which I had previously learnt in school. Instead of manually editing repeated elements on every slide, I used Slide Master to make consistent changes across the presentation more efficiently. This helped ensure that fonts, layouts, placeholders and other design elements followed the organisation's branding guidelines. Being able to apply what I had learnt in school to a real workplace project gave me greater confidence and showed me how classroom knowledge can be used to improve efficiency in a professional environment.

One of the largest projects I worked on contained more than 150 slides. Rebranding such a large presentation was both time-consuming and tedious. Besides updating the visual design, I also had to insert audio recordings into the presentation and export the completed slides into MP4 video format for online learning. After exporting, I was responsible for checking every single slide again to ensure that the formatting, animations, audio synchronisation and overall presentation were correct. Even a small formatting mistake or audio error could affect the students' learning experience, so attention to detail was essential throughout the process.

While working on these slide decks, I was also assigned another project which required me to switch between different tasks throughout the day. Balancing multiple responsibilities taught me how to manage my time effectively, prioritise urgent work and remain organised without compromising the quality of either project.

Although the primary purpose of the task was to rebrand the slides, I also gained knowledge from the educational content itself. As I spent many hours reviewing every slide, I became more familiar with topics such as the applications of deep learning in healthcare AI and the structure and functions of the human nervous system. Reading through the lecture materials while editing allowed me to better understand the concepts and appreciate how digital learning resources are designed to communicate complex medical information in a clear and engaging manner.

Overall, this experience strengthened my attention to detail, patience and organisational skills. It also taught me the importance of maintaining consistency in educational materials, as a professional and well-structured presentation helps improve students' learning experience. More importantly, it reinforced the value of applying skills learnt in school, such as using Slide Master, to real-world projects. Completing multiple rebranding projects while managing other responsibilities has also increased my confidence in handling large-scale tasks, working efficiently under deadlines and adapting to the expectations of a professional workplace.
